Smartcom Software was founded in 2005, from a restructuring of Marine Computing International, by Tim Thornton. The company has a team of staff who combine web and Windows software development skills with a high level of knowledge of navigation (both land and marine), cartography and hydrography, navigation related systems such as tides and e-navigation, and mobile and satellite communications.
